Ahoy everyone,

Its the business end of the season. Lots of regattas with good results for
the ANUSC, at the University Fleet Racing Regatta last weekend, and
hopefully at Bateman's Bay this weekend. The season is drawing to a close,
here's whats left of the sailing.

*1. This Weekend at the Shed - Saturday 2:00pm
2. ANZAC Day Sailing - Wednesday 25th April
3. Club Championships - Saturday 28th April
4. Match Racing with UNSW - Saturday 28th April - Sunday 29th April*

*1. This Weekend at the Shed - Saturday 2:00pm*
Scott and Diane will be opening the shed on Saturday from 2pm to 5pm if you
want to sail. If any other committee members are heading down, they'll
email the club list.

*2. ANZAC Day Sailing*
Public Holiday. Perfect time for a sail. I'll be opening the shed on
Wednesday afternoon 2pm - 5:30pm. Your last chance for midweek sailing.

*3. Club Championships - Saturday 28th April*
The big end of season event for the ANUSC. We'll be holding a mini-regatta
for club members in the lasers and tasars. The races will be open to
everyone of all standards. Plus there will be a free BBQ afterwards and the
end of season shed closing party. Sign up at:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArI-Jov5E3VYdEQyRzd3RjdhUFZVRjhScUx4aEJjdXc

The format will vary depending on numbers (and wind on the day) but I
reckon we'll have some heats (two races per heat) followed by some finals -
both for the top sailors from each heat and also a plate final kind of
thing . Everyone will get to race multiple times and there will probably be
prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Top Beginner, Plate Winner, Tasar Winner, Best
Capsize). When you sign up, include which boat you want to sail in. We will
be using some kind of yardstick to benefit the Radials and disadvantage the
Racing Lasers. For those with a powerboat license let us know, as I'm sure
Alex will want some company in the powerboat and help with timings at
various times during the afternoon. People can also race in the Tasars for
even more racing action. And bring beer!

*4. Match Racing with UNSW - Saturday 28th April - Sunday 29th April*
If you fancy doing some racing that weekend instead then UNSW Sailing have
invited us to compete in some match racing with them. Match racing is the
kind of racing we'll encounter at UniGames. UNSW will provide the boats -
possibly Pacers which are the 2-man UniGames boats. So lots of relevant
experience there for those interested. Costs are likely to be $500. The
club may be able to make a small contribution. Contact myself or Krystina
if you're keen and we'll get an idea of interest.

Good luck to all those racing at Bateman's Bay regatta this weekend,

Nick
