Hi everyone,

Lake Burley Griffin was closed last week during the flooding due to water quality issues, but there is still heaps to do:
1. Wallagoot lake Regatta this weekend - 10-11 March
2. Laser Coaching Clinics with the CYC - 20 and 26 March
3. Laser Coaching Clinics with NSW/ACT Laser Association - 24, 25, 31 March and 1 April.
3. Honeymoon Bay Coast Trip (Jervis Bay) - 30 March-1 April
4. Australian University Fleet Racing Regatta - Sydney - 13-15 April (join the ANU Sailing Team)

Lake Closure
Lake Burley Griffin was closed last week during the flooding due to water quality issues. The earliest it is expected to be open would be Thursday, however from past experience it may be longer. Sailing from our shed (including the beginners courses) will resume as soon as the lake re-opens. For more information visit the NCA website: http://www.nationalcapital.gov.au/

Wallagoot Lake Regatta - this weekend
The Wallagoot Lake regatta is happening on 10-11 March (Canberra Day weekend). The trip is pretty much full but we can hire a boat or two (Pacers) from the local club.

Wallagoot Lake is in Bournda NP near Tathra. At the club house there's camp sites, showers and toilets, (you need to bring drinking water or drinking beer). The club puts on BBQ lunches, breakfast and a delicious dinner all at reasonable prices.

Participants have to attend a pretrip on Thursday to put the boats on the trailers and aftertrip on Sunday to wash the boats and put them back in their places. If you are interested put your name here (don't delay, we only have a limited trailer capacity).

Notice of Race is here http://thebegavalley.org.au/22233.html

The club will pay the entry fee for all members and there are no boat hire fees. However you will still have to chip in for: 1) fuel for your transport, 2) towing subsidy ($10/sailor) and 3) National Park entry ($7/car).

Laser Coaching Clinics at the CYC
The Canberra Yacht Club is running two Laser coaching clinics on Tuesday  20th March 5.30 to 7pm andMonday 26th March  5.30 to 7pm. These are free to CYC members.
