Ahoy Sailors,
Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to send an extra couple of emails
detailing a few things about the club, so that everyone is aware of the
facilities we have etc etc. Today its the club kayaks.
The club has owned three kayaks for quite a while now. They're pretty old,
but still lake-worthy. Over the close season we have purchased three kayak
paddles for the club. They have black stems with yellow blades and have
written ANUSC #1, #2, and #3 written on them. They are for use with the
clubs kayaks - which are the older looking kayaks on the racks with the
club boats - one is yellow, one light blue and one purple. Whilst we're not
a kayak club so won't be looking to replace them anytime soon, having
functioning kayaks serves several purposes. 1) Having extra hands on the
water whilst on beginner's courses and the ability to help those in trouble
in the bay, 2) When you end up at the shed and there's no wind, you can
still head out for a paddle, 3) if you are alone at the shed, and are
unsure of sailing without someone else, you can still get out on the water.
These club kayaks are here for all club members, so do feel free to use
them, just make sure you sign them out in the club logbook like any other
craft.
And don't forget. Tuesday Twilights start tonight. A great way to improve
your laser sailing. Jules will be opening the shed from 5pm.
Thanks,
Nick Scroxton
