[Sres-postdocs] IT support management in SRES

Dear all

As you know, SRES IT support is provided by three people (John 
Boland, Steve Leahy and Karl Nissen) filling 2.5 positions (Karl 
works part time in SRES).  Given the need for both day-to-day support 
of SRES users and longer-term IT project work to ensure that we have 
a well-managed computing environment, it has been agreed that the IT 
staff will each be 'quarantined' for one day per week to allow them 
to complete particular projects.  This means that IT support will be 
provided by two IT staff each day, as follows:

Monday          Karl, John
Tuesday         John, Steve
Wednesday               John, Steve
Thursday                Karl, Steve
Friday                  John, Steve

Notices to this effect will be placed on each IT staff member's 
office door.  This system will start on Monday 3 April, and will 
operate until further notice.

Please do not approach a member of the IT staff for assistance when 
it is not their day to be 'on duty'!

Remember that ALL requests for IT assistance should be sent to 
sres-it at anu.edu.au, so that whichever staff member is available can 
attend to your query as quickly as possible.
