Dear Colleagues,

LINKAGE PROJECTS (ROUND 1) - FOR FUNDING in 2008
The LP Funding Rules for funding commencing in 
2008 are available on the ARC website at

Applicants for the Linkage Projects scheme should 
download and read the

Rules and the 
<http://www.arc.gov.au/pdf/LP08_R1_Instructions.pdf>Instructions to Applicants.

Please read the new Funding Rules carefully as 
several sections have changed or been 
clarified.  Section 2 of the Funding Rules - 
Changes from last year - will highlight the significant changes made.

ARC GAMS SYSTEM
Applicants will be required to complete the 
on-line application form using the ARC Grant 
Application Management System 
(<https://gams.arc.gov.au/>GAMS).  Instruction on 
how to access a GAMS ID can be found on the 
<http://www.anu.edu.au/ro/grants/ARC.php#gams>RO website.

Sources of Advice and Assistance
Content:  It is expected that at least one 
academic colleague or mentor read your 
application prior to submission to 
CoSRO.  Possible readers and sources of advice 
include senior colleagues, current and previous 
ARC grant holders, and/or Heads of Schools/Departments.
Finance:  Financial advice relative to your 
budget should be sought from your local finance 
officer.  This includes advice on salary levels, 
on-costs, and standard purchasing and/or travel rates.
Grant Scheme:  Advice on grant schemes, 
University research policies, and procedures are 
available from your relevant Research Management Officer.

CoSRO SUBMISSION DEADLINE: FRIDAY 20th APRIL at 10am
All applications must be received by Monday the 
20th of April as each application requires review 
and approval by the relevant officers and Dean or 
Director prior to submission to the ARC.  The 
College of Science Research Management Office 
(CoSRO) will forward the applications in accordance with the ARC deadline.

CoSRO cannot guarantee approval and submission of 
applications not received by this date.

DRAFT APPLICATIONS
Please note that CoSRO is more than happy to 
review FINAL DRAFT applications and provide 
feedback prior to the above deadline.  We 
encourage you to email a FINAL DRAFT of your 
application to your Research Management Officer 
as early as possible so as to allow time for a 
thorough technical and quality check to be performed.

    * School of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
    * School of Psychology
    * School of Botany and Zoology
    * National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science

DRAFT application submission process:
1)      One (1) complete Draft application 
submitted to CoSRO 1-2 weeks before the closing date of 16th April 2007.
2)      Draft application returned to applicant advising recommendations.
3)      Final Application returned to CoSRO per submission procedures below.

FINAL APPLICATION SUBMISSION PROCEDURES/REQUIREMENTS
A complete Final Application comprises the following:

1.       One (1) original and one (1) copy of the application, marked as such.
    *

to Apply for External Funding Form (RO-AP1)
    * Printed copy of the GAMS Local Submission 
page.  Do not include this in the numbering of pages.
    * Signed ARC Certification pro-forma.
    * Submitted to CoSRO no later than April 16, 2007.
