AINSE Awards - 2003 Series
*	2003 Award Application Form <grant.htm> - Online application form
*	2003 Guidelines <guidelines.html>
The Institute has a number of awards to be awarded for 2003
Applications are invited from university researchers in the fields, or applications, of nuclear science and associated technology.
A research project of interest to the Institute will usually require some use of the national facilities at the Lucas Heights Research Laboratories near Sydney, NSW.
Over 100 major and minor facilities include: the HIFAR reactor with associated neutron diffraction instruments, neutron and gamma-ray irradiation facilities; neutron activation analysis; ion and electron beam accelerators including Accelerator Mass
Spectrometry (AMS), SIMS, a fully equipped coastal and marine survey vessel, environmental radiochemistry and radiopharmaceutical laboratories, advanced materials characterisation and fabrication facilities, computing facilities and other specialised
equipment and services supporting ANSTO program areas. A full list of these facilities is available on request.
AINSE also facilitates access to the National Plasma Fusion Research Facility.
Collaborative research programs are particularly encouraged in fields which are related to the research activities of the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) at Lucas Heights.
Assistance is available mainly in the form of awards enabling university researchers to meet costs associated with the use of facilities; travel to and from those facilities; and accommodation during periods of attachment. Requests for small items of
equipment and materials may also be considered.
The AINSE member organisations include most universities in Australia and the University of Auckland, NZ. The closing date for receipt of applications by AINSE is 23 SEPTEMBER 2002.
Researchers from member universities who wish to apply for an AINSE Award should contact the Registrar, or Office of Research or the AINSE Councillor at the University, or The Scientific Secretary, Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering,
