[Aqualist] AQUA AGM, 29 May

The AQUA AGM is fast approaching. It is to be held at 4pm, on Friday 29 May at UNSW. The venue for the AGM will be the Climate Change Research Centre (CCRC)  Seminar Room. The CCRC is located on the 4th floor of the Mathews Building (building F23, see campus map at http://www.facilities.unsw.edu.au/sites/all/files/KENC_Campus_Dec14.pdf).

We are on the point of significant renewal with the AQUA committee, so encourage members to put their names forward if they are interested in contributing to the future of AQUA.

As a further consideration, and as a result of our new Constitution:

(i) Members can now appoint proxies to represent them. Proxies count towards the quorum, so this would be great if you can't make it physically or virtually

(ii) Members can now attend the AGM via videoconferencing or even via phone hook-up. Again, this counts towards the quorum. At this stage, we are likely to use Skype, but have to check in the capabilities of the room. Those intending to attend in a virtual manner, please contact secretary at aqua.org.au<mailto:secretary at aqua.org.au> so that we can compile the list of those we need to chase up once these details are confirmed.

The agenda for the AGM includes:

1.Membership update
2. Election of Office Bearers, including: President, Vice-President,  Secretary, Treasurer, Editor of publications, Information Technology Editor, Ordinary members
3. Appointment to honorific committee positions, including GSNZ liaison, STA representative, National Earth Sciences Committee Representative, ·         Past President,
4. AQUA website updated and blogs
5. INQUA congress, including discussion of Bids for next INQUA
6. 2016 AQUA meeting update
7. Other Business
8. AQUA Prizes

·    10.  Initiatives for 2015/2016
