Anyone else noticing the gen nbn ads all over the place? Saw heaps on the tennis this weekend. Those wouldn't have come cheap. And then today I signed onto a spotify jazz channel proudly sponsored by gen nbn so that it's ad free.

Question: why does a monopoly essentially public utility need to advertise at all? 

They already have the ability to cut anyone's communications services, that are wired at least, once the system is in. 18 months now. Is it an adjustible period by govt fiat? I don't know.
