Posters for your Loo Door

For those of you based in an ANU building - help us get the message out there through the Back of the Loo Door poster series. Email gop at anu.edu.au and let us know if you can help put these up in your building. There are three to choose from - "Water Conservation", "Why Recycle" and "ANU's Paper Consumption". 

Greenfleet Tree Planting

13 & 14 September
Treeplanting and celebration of completion of Murray Darling Rescue 2003 Saturday & Sunday fom 9am at Freshford Equestrian Centre, Tuggeranong, ACT Point Hut Road, Gordon (20 minutes south of Canberra, follow the signs). ANU purchases Green Fleet tree planting every year to help alleviate our vehicle fleet's emissions, and here is a chance for ANU staff and students to make a personal contribution! Greenfleet and Scouts Australia would like to invite you, your family and friends to join us in a tree planting and sausage sizzle to celebrate a very successful third year for Murray Darling Rescue. Old-growth logging and UniSuper

As you may be aware the Wilderness Society and a group of shareholders have been able to force Australia's biggest woodchipper, Gunns Ltd, into holding an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on August 29th to investigate its logging practices and vote on a special resolution, which relates particularly to logging in Tasmania.

UniSuper is one of the big investors in Gunns Ltd; if you are concerned about this issue you may wish to write to UniSuper asking the fund manager to reflect your values and support the special resolution. If you are an employee of a university you are a member of UniSuper.
