this notice is to collect names and addresses of people possibly
interested in a workshop which scientists from the Free University of
Berlin and the University of Ulan Bator (Mongolia) intend to organize in
NW Mongolia for 1-2 weeks during august 2002.

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT
Extant and Holocene Limnic Systems and Microorganisms in NW Mongolia
August 2002, Ulan Bator, Mongolia
An interdisciplinary group of specialists intends to offer a combined
lab and field workshop for extant and holocene nonmarine microorganisms
(charophytes, ostracods, diatoms, and even some forams) in lakes and
rivers in NW Mongolia. Main organizers will be M. Walther (FU Berlin and
Ulan Bator university) and M. Schudack (FU Berlin). We intend to offer
some courses in the lab, the possibility to present posters and papers,
and a 5-6 days field trip with opportunities for sampling and field
work.
This is only a first announcement to collect the names and addresses of
people with a possible interest in such a workshop, in order to see if
there are interested people enough to proceed with this project.
