Tenure-track Position in Aquatic Biology

The Department of Biology at Queen's University invites applications for a
tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in aquatic biology,
preferably with a research focus in limnology, paleolimnology, community
ecology, and/or environmental change. Individuals working with aquatic
invertebrates or aquatic plants are especially encouraged to apply.

Queen's has strong research and teaching programs in aquatic biology;
excellent facilities include the Paleoecological Environmental Assessment
and Research Laboratory (PEARL), Queen's University Biological Station on
Lake Opinicon and the Fowler Herbarium (http://biology.queensu.ca/).

Qualifications include a PhD, postdoctoral experience and published
evidence of excellent research ability. The successful candidate will be
expected to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program, and be
an excellent teacher. All faculty members are expected to teach graduate
and undergraduate courses, and supervise graduate student research.

Expected date of appointment is July 1, 2002 (or as negotiated). Salary
will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Application
deadline is December 15, 2001 or until position is filled.
