Subject: 2 postdoctoral fellowships in luminescence dating
Apologies for cross posting.
Please distribute.
The newly established Luminescence Dating Laboratory at the Instituto
Tecnologico e Nuclear (ITN) in Lisbon (Portugal) is offering postdoctoral
fellowships (up to 3 years) through the Fundação para a Ciência e a
Tecnologia (FCT).
We're seeking two physicists, geologists, geographers, geochemists or
archaeologists with experience in luminescence or a related dating method.
The development of own research projects in the application of luminescence
dating and fundamental research is encouraged, while the involvement in
various current projects in dating archaeological and geological sites in
Portugal is requested.
The laboratory is housed in 3 newly furnished rooms, equipped with one Riso
DA-15, beta and alpha irradiation facilities, portable gamma spectrometry
and various sample preparation facilities. In addition, Neutron Activation
Analysis, Low Level Gamma Spectrometry and Gamma Irradiation facilities are
available, amongst others. Please see www.itn.pt for more information on
the institute in general and its research facilities, and/or contact
richterd at itn.pt.
Please send your extended CV (including research interests, project ideas,
etc.) to Daniel Richter at the address below. Closing date is march 1st 2002.
