Subject: Ph.D. research opportunity in Antarctica

Student sought to begin Ph.D. program involving research on Antarctic lake
sediment processes and the use of sediments to infer paleoclimate. This
person would need to be available to travel to Antarctica this fall
(Oct-December) to carry out field work in conjunction with the McMurdo
Dry Valleys Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) site (see
http://huey.colorado.edu/). At least another two field seasons would
likely be involved. Previous experience in remote regions is desired but
not essential. Please send names and contact information of 3 people
familiar with your work, and transcripts to the address below.
A fall semester start would be desired, but a spring semester start
following the field season could be possible. Review of applications will
begin March 31.
