240541          SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER IN SOIL AND ENVIRONMENT SCIENCE

Department of Earth Sciences
School of Science and Engineering

The Department of Earth Sciences undertakes teaching and research in a 
range of core disciplines including soil science, hydrology, coastal and 
marine science, volcanology, sedimentary geology, and engineering geology, 
and contributes to interdisciplinary subjects such as environmental 
science, monitoring, and planning.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a 
Lectureship in the Department of Earth Sciences in the discipline of soil 
science.  We are seeking applicants with strengths primarily in soil 
chemistry and who have developed research linkages between soil science, 
land, water and environmental management.

You will be required to teach various aspects of soil science at both 
undergraduate and graduate levels, including supervision of laboratory 
work, and supervising and developing graduate and post-graduate research 
projects for MSc and PhD degrees.  You will also be required to pursue an 
active research programme and will be encouraged to collaborate with 
various environmental and research agencies in soil management related 
research.

A doctoral degree is essential as are demonstrable research and teaching 
capabilities and a record of attracting research funding.  More information
