[Aqualist] AQUA meeting Dec 08

Hi All,

This serves as a second circular regarding the AQUA meeting in December 2008.
Registration forms will be available in the next couple of weeks and will be
circulated via the listserver. In the interim, if you have any queries, feel
free to contact me.

AQUA would like to confirm the details for their biennial meeting in December
2008. The meeting will be held from Sun Dec 7th through to Friday morning Dec
12th. the meeting will commence with welcome drinks on Sunday evening. There
will be presentations Monday to Wednesday with field trips held on the
Thursday. Social activities include a Quaternary quiz night on the Monday night
(8th) and a dinner in Victor Harbor on Wednesday 10th.

Accommodation (including breakfast and dinner) is available at the meeting
venue (the TOC-H camp) at a cost of approximately $40 / night including meals.
Accommodation is on a share basis with some twin / triple rooms and some larger
dorms. There are ample additional accommodation options available in Victor
Harbor, ranging from camping to 5 star.

There are three planned field trips, a tour of the Lower Lakes and Coorong,
daytrip to Kangaroo Island and a winery tour to MacLaren Vale.

Registration costs are likely to be approx. $100 for meeting only (including
lunches) or $300 for meeting including 5 nights shared accommodation and all
meals. There will be a discount for students. The meal on the Wednesday night
will be held a local restaurant and is likely to cost approx. $60. Field trip
costs will be confirmed soon (field trip is optional). These costs may change
slightly as we are still confirming prices.

Victor Harbor is a seaside town about 1 1/2 hours drive from Adelaide. If
flying, there is a bus service from Adelaide Airport to Victor.
