We have decided to extend the date for submission of abstracts by a further 2
weeks to the 17th October. This is mainly due to being inundated by requests
for extentions due to field work etc. So if we extend it for some, we might as
well extend for all !

Despite the late organisation, this is shaping up to being a very successful
meeting. We have had registrations from as far away as northern Europe and as
close as, well, Victor Harbor.

Two keynote addresses have now been confirmed - Professor Patrick De Deckker
and Professor Colin Murray Wallace. As well as being highly esteemed Quaternary
researchers, they are both experts on the Murray Mouth / Coorong region.

Two field trips have also been confirmed - Patrick De Deckker and John Cann
will be leading a trip exploring the Quaternary history of the Murray Mouth and
Coorong and John Tibby will be leading a trip to the Lower Murray River and
lakes looking at Holocene environmental change with a focus on human impacts.

The long range weather forecast for the 8th - 12th of December has also now
been confirmed. It will be sunny, temp in the high 20's - low 30's, good surf,
gentle breeze arriving late afternoon just in time for drinks on the deck
overlooking the southern ocean.

So...given the extension on abtsracts, keep sending them in. The full program
will be announced by the end of October.

thanks, Jennie (and the organising committee)
