APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO ATTEND THE INQUA CONGRESS IN BERN,
20-27 July 2010.
INQUA will offer some limited financial assistance for early-career
scientists (less than 7 years since PhD) and scientists from countries with
low GDP. The INQUA support will partially cover the travel and registration
costs. Please note that these INQUA grants are not normally intended to
support the attendance of keynote and plenary speakers.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 03 December 2010
Please address the following items, and number them point-by-point, as a
pro-forma response:
1. Your name.
2. Year PhD (or other higher degree) awarded or expected to be awarded.
3. Institution(s) that awarded this/these degrees.
4. Your age.
5. Your present position and present address including email for
correspondence. Please use your institutional email address rather than a
commercial network such as yahoo or gmail.
6. Affiliation with INQUA (e.g. participation in INQUA projects or past
Congresses).
7. Title of your proposed presentation at the INQUA Congress in Bern.
8. Did you request an oral or poster presentation ?
9. Session to which you submitted your abstract.
10. Please attach a copy of your abstract.
11. Level of funding requested of INQUA. Indicate separately the cost of
the airfare.
12. Indicate the financial support received or requested from other sources
that will assist your attendance in Bern.
13. If appropriate, you may attach a statement of support from an INQUA
project leader or Bern session chairperson.
14. Please provide a short statement (six lines) about your research field,
and how you would benefit from attendance in Bern.
15. Your completed response can be forwarded to Allan Chivas
(toschi at uow.edu.au<mailto:toschi at uow.edu.au>) and before the deadline of Friday 3 December 2010.
The Committee considering these applications will attempt to complete its
deliberations by mid-December 2010, so that successful applicants can begin
the process of making their travel plans.
