Dear Quaternarists,
The next issue of Quaternary Australasia is about to hit the post,
bundled up with the letters to Santa. You may be thinking that it is
some time since you last read QA and wondering what has happened to it.
If this is the case, chances are you have not renewed your membership.
Although we have increased subscription rates this year, to insure a
solvent and healthy future for the association, they remain very
reasonable, particularly in comparison to other, similar sized
organisations. Our generous support of students through prizes and
attendance at important events, such as INQUA or Science meets
Parliament, continues.
You will hopefully have received, either via email or post, a renewal
notice. We are hoping to move to a fully online subscription system in
the New Year, and so for this we ask you to carefully check your renewal
notice to ensure all details are correct. If you have not received a
notice, please contact our Treasurer, Steven Phipps:
treasurer at aqua.org.au who will remedy the situation for you. Payment now
will see your subscription effective through 2012.
Note also please that the AQUA biennial conference is only a couple of
months away. Situated by the shores of the beautiful Lake Tekapo, the
AQUA conference always provides students and early career researchers an
excellent opportunity to present their research in a supportive and
well-informed environment. The chance to participate in the now
legendary Quaternary trivia contest is not to be missed. The deadline
for abstracts has been extended to 16th January, with final registration
1st February, 2012. See www.aqua.org.au for an abstract submission form
and further details.
AQUA is an organisation with a proud past – and hopefully – healthy
future. But it does require your support to continue.
Sincerely,
AQUA Exec.
