Dear Colleagues,
We would like to draw your attention to the following session at the AGU
Fall Meeting, 3-7 December 2012.
Session GC037 - Quaternary and Holocene climate change in the Southern
Hemisphere
Session chairs: Jasper Knight (jasper.knight at wits.ac.za
<mailto:jasper.knight at wits.ac.za> ), Stefan Grab (Stefan.grab at wits.ac.za
<mailto:Stefan.grab at wits.ac.za> ), Stephen Tooth (set at aber.ac.uk
<mailto:set at aber.ac.uk> )
Session description: Quaternary and Holocene climate records in the
Southern Hemisphere are sparse but cover many different terrestrial and
marine environments in different climate zones. This session aims to
integrate geological, biological and dating evidence from across the
Southern Hemisphere in order to identify hemispheric-scale climate
controls (including ocean circulation), teleconnections with rapid
climate changes including Heinrich and Dansgaard-Oeschger events, and
correlation between different records such as during the lateglacial.
Contributions using geological, biological and dating evidence are
invited from different terrestrial and marine environments across the
Southern Hemisphere.
Abstracts are due Wednesday 8 August 2012 at:
