Dear David, Paul and Jessica,
The INQUA Executive has received bids for the
next Congress from Dublin, Rome and Zaragoza. There is only a one-page
letter of intent from each at this stage, although fuller documents will
need to be lodged shortly. Each candidate city will present its case
orally and with ppt and detailed budget at the first (or second?) of three
International Council meetings during the Nagoya Congress, with a final
vote by delegates at the third. There is time between these meetings to
inform each country¹s Quaternarists of the relative merits of each bid to
aid the vote of the national delegate (by their holding a national
meeting, for example, social or otherwise) It may be that we ask each
city¹s representative to also present a short case to the General Assembly
(i.e. all Congress attendees).
Cheers,
Allan
