Apologies for any cross-posting.

The next double act for the Palaeo Advancements on the East Coast seminar series has been scheduled for the 10 November at the University of Sydney. This is the second of our meetings which have been set up to share the latest in palaeo research across the wider Sydney region.

The next seminars will be hosted by Dan Penny at the University of Sydney. Feel free to forward on to anyone who might be interested.
Date: Thursday, 10 November 2016
Time: Commencing 3 pm
Venue: Room 433, Madsen Building F09 (School of Geosciences), University of Sydney

Seminar 1 by Associate Professor Jody Webster (USyd): The response of the Great Barrier Reef to major environmental changes: lessons from geologic past
Seminar 2 by Dr Dan Penny (USyd): Holocene-aged isotope records of monsoon dynamics from continental southeast Asia: progress and prospects from recent work in Cambodia’s volcanic crater lakes.

This is a completely open event and we’d welcome anyone to attend. The meetings are completely informal with plenty of tea and coffee. At the end of the talks we’ll take a trip down to the Rose Hotel (52-54 Cleveland St, Chippendale) and have a cheap eat.

Should be a great afternoon for catching up with friends and share some ideas.

Hope to see you there.

All the very best,

Chris Turney (UNSW)
Tim Cohen (UoW)
Sylvia Frisia (Newcastle)
Damian Gore (Macquarie)
Monika Markowska and Pauline Treble (ANSTO)
Dan Penny (Sydney)
Greg Skilbeck (UTS)
