With the cancellation of numerous conferences including AQUA in the Atherton Tablelands we propose to hold a
Trans-Tasman Quaternary Science "pop-up" e-conference (July 1 & 2) - to allow us to catch up and get feedback on our current projects.
We are organising an informal "pop-up" e-conference on Zoom to highlight new or ongoing work in the Holocene and Pleistocene with minimal barriers to participation (see below). Presentation content can span a range of topics (past climates/environments, tectonics, stratigraphy, geomorphology, volcanology, biogeography etc.) and the geography can span beyond Australia and New Zealand to our neighbouring Southern Ocean, tropical islands, Antarctica, etc. We particularly encourage submissions from early career researchers and postgraduate students, so please forward this invitation widely.
Chris Moy (Otago University) will host the first day of the meeting on July 1st for NZ-based participants.
Helen Bostock (University of Queensland) will host the second day of the meeting on July 2nd for Australian-based participants.
A programme will be distributed in advance and participants from either country can attend both days.
If you are interested in presenting, please send the following to Chris (chris.moy at otago.ac.nz<mailto:chris.moy at otago.ac.nz>) if you are based in NZ or wish to present stuff on that region or Helen (h.bostock at uq.edu.au<mailto:h.bostock at uq.edu.au>) if you are based in Australia and have an Australian project the following by end of day on June 1st:
Name:
Affiliation:
Contact email address:
Informative title:
Key points: These bullets (similar to what you read in papers in AGU journals) should convey the main points and conclusions of the presentation. Up to four key point statements are allowed.
We will then organize and send out a schedule, along with details about the presentation format on Zoom, closer to the day. Expect the talks to be brief (10 mins max) with time after for discussion.
Please get in touch if you have any questions.
All the best,
Chris Moy (University of Otago) + Helen Bostock (University of Queensland)
