Hi all
This looks like a great opportunity to be involved in addressing the inequalities and career obstacles faced by parents in STEMM, which have recently been magnified by the coronavirus pandemic. I just took the survey, and it took around 10 mins.
The survey is open to people of any gender, with or without children, who are working or studying in any professional sector in STEMM, and at any career stage.
The data from this survey will help to raise awareness and create long-term solutions for increasing the retention of women in STEMM careers and for promoting workplace equality and inclusion.
Please take the survey and spread the word! www.mothersinscience.com/survey<https://apc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mothersinscience.com%2Fsurvey&data=04%7C01%7Clynda.petherick%40vuw.ac.nz%7C07a0cd7242fe4c90050e08d87c47932a%7Ccfe63e236951427e8683bb84dcf1d20c%7C0%7C0%7C637395994181648766%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=MIM%2FIHLpr%2FJ88HN7lvroyzl1bpaUc9VuDTSiDVp86JA%3D&reserved=0>

Our organization is currently conducting an international survey<https://apc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mothersinscience.com%2Fsurvey&data=04%7C01%7Clynda.petherick%40vuw.ac.nz%7C07a0cd7242fe4c90050e08d87c47932a%7Ccfe63e236951427e8683bb84dcf1d20c%7C0%7C0%7C637395994181588792%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=8F43gGTsxE4zqXvXfwSoCzTldBKjuT%2Bqdo2hkSxX4ZY%3D&reserved=0> <https://apc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mothersinscience.com%2Fsurvey&data=04%7C01%7Clynda.petherick%40vuw.ac.nz%7C07a0cd7242fe4c90050e08d87c47932a%7Ccfe63e236951427e8683bb84dcf1d20c%7C0%7C0%7C637395994181588792%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=8F43gGTsxE4zqXvXfwSoCzTldBKjuT%2Bqdo2hkSxX4ZY%3D&reserved=0> that I believe is of interest to researchers and students at Victoria, especially to scientist mothers.
This is the first global study to address the career obstacles and inequalities faced by parents in STEMM, and which have been recently magnified by the coronavirus pandemic- especially for mothers.
We would appreciate if you could support us by sharing the survey within Victoria's research departments and their social media platforms, and if possible, also among your contacts at other research institutions- your help could really make a difference. To facilitate sharing on your part, I've attached a media kit with posters that you can use and share freely.
Note: It would also be really helpful if you could encourage your male colleagues/friends (especially fathers) to take the survey and spread the word. We need to hear from fathers (and childless people), but we so far have fewer male respondents.
