Hello paleo friends,
Some of you working with paleoenvironmental data might be interested in this virtual workshop (described below). The focus is paleo sea level but it is applicable to all paleoenvironment data..
PALSEA<https://palseagroup.weebly.com/> (a PAGES<https://pastglobalchanges.org/> working group) and Rutgers Earth System Science & Policy Lab<https://earthscipol.net/> is now calling for interest in a virtual workshop about spatio-temporal hierarchical modelling for paleo sea-level data.
This workshop will be held on 11-12th or 18-19th June 2024 (i.e., two consecutive half-days), followed by another 2-hour drop-in session for any additional questions (if required). The workshop will cover basic concepts about Bayesian analysis, hierarchical modelling, spatiotemporal data analysis, and multiple modelling and analysis choices for paleoclimate data, including temporal and spatio-temporal Gaussian Process models (with hands-on practice). More details about this workshop can be found within the flyer.
This workshop is open for all, and if you would like to attend this workshop (and to find the best time zone that will suit most people), please express your interest via this link<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ABwMA3I3mhPKzNFZeHZwR90wbS8NKQGHwYR0KvyMoEo/viewform?edit_requested=true> before Monday 29th of April. We will update the schedule based on the responses provided. Any questions, please reach out!
Best wishes,
Yucheng Lin, Juliet Sefton, and Alex Reedy
