On behalf of Piyal Halder <piyalhalder.org at gmail.com>

I am sharing the call for abstracts for my session at INQUA 2027 and kindly request you to share it with the AQUA members, working on Quaternary Faults, to submit abstracts to my session. Here are the session details:

Session Code: S_088
Session Title: Physico-chemical characterisation of the Quaternary Faults and their implications for fault slip and hazard assessment
Session highlights:
The faults with the activation history during the Quaternary period (mostly <1.6 million years) are termed the Quaternary faults (USGS). The session will shed light on various geophysical (including geodetic) methods employed for identifying and gaining a comprehensive understanding of their past and present activities. To assess future earthquake hazards, the session also welcomes insights into how fault rock chemistry influences the physical behaviour of the Quaternary fault, as observed in the San Andreas Fault in the USA and the Alpine Fault in New Zealand.
Session Covenors:
(1) Dr. Piyal Halder
Former PhD student of Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (DST, Govt. of India) & Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India; ECS Representative of the GMPV (Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Petrology & Volcanology) Division of EGU; Webmaster & Outreach Officer, Executive Committee, VGP Division of AGU & Communication Committee Member, European Association of Geochemistry;
(2) Dr. Vineet Kumar Gahalaut
Director, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun & Scientist-G, CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad, 500007, Telangana, India.
(3) Dr. Anupam Sharma
Scientist-G & Head, Geochemistry Division, Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (DST, Govt. of India) & Hon. Prof., Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India
The abstract submission deadline is 31st January, 2026 (IST). Click here to submit your abstract.

I would be grateful if you could kindly also share the session details in your AQUA circle for wider attention.

I am attaching the flyer herewith. Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Sincerely,
Piyal.
