Dear all,

I am aware we all receive more emails than realistically manageable, but I wanted to draw everyone’s attention to a few mailing lists that might be worth signing up to. These mailing lists are all in the space of international scientific deep drilling activities under the umbrella of the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP) and the Australian New-Zealand Scientific Drilling Consortium (ANZIC). ANZIC also hosts the ‘Giant Piston Coring Workshop) as part of this year’s AQUA conference in Sydney.

You are currently not involved in ICDP projects, but interested?

This is when these mailing lists become interesting for every career level. While this would be amazing to do so, you don’t need to lead or pitch a project to get involved: In the next few weeks, successful ‘workshop proposals’ will be announced by ICDP. These workshops are for specific research projects that are still in the development phase, and workshops are open to participants from ICDP member countries (AUS and NZ are both member). If a project hosts a workshop, you can apply for participation with ICDP/ the lead CI of the project. If you are successful, all travel costs to the workshop will be covered by ICDP. This is a great opportunity to engage with a large international community, and to get involved in subsequent ‘full drill proposal’ for submission to ICDP. There is also funding support available via ANZIC for travel, research, and drilling , which will be announced via the website and the news letter below.
