The Reading Group is resuming its Friday sessions after a short break over 
the Christmas and New Year periods. We hope to see all of you there.

Reading: Nicole Tarulevicz, Between Forgetting and Remembering: Singaporean 
History, Unpublished Conference Paper.

Comments: This paper provides a fascinating insight into how a small 
city-state like Singapore uses history for what it determines to be its 
national interest. Through an analysis of history writing, official or 
state narratives and the museum scene in Singapore, Tarulevicz brings to 
life some of the complex dynamics that exist in post-independence Singapore.
