[Easttimorstudies] Posting to the East Timor Studies List

Dear Members

When posting to the List, could you please consider that all members 
of the East Timor Studies List signed up to the list based on the 
Guidelines of the list. That is, that information which is circulated 
is of use to people doing research on East Timor. It follows that 
information that has been published (and can therefore be cited) is preferable.

I take this opportunity to let members know that information about 
the current situation in East Timor is circulated via the East Timor 
Action Network list and if you wish to receive updates and 
participate in discussion you may like to join that list by visiting 
their website at http://etan.org/resource/etlist.htm. Postings (other 
than academic or research papers) that are sent to both ETAN and the 
East Timor Studies List are likely to be rejected by this List.

There is a dire need for open and thoughtful discussion about the 
current situation in East Timor and I would welcome the establishment 
of a discussion list for this purpose.
