Dear list members,
just a short follow-up on Bob's question about Loro Munu vs. Loro Sae.
I recall hanging out with young Timorese friends in Dili last year when they
referred to these terms ... rather jokingly. They had quite a ball
attributing different "inherent" characteristics of Firaku/Kaladi to each
other. Therefore, it is rather sad and shocking to observe how these terms
have apparently turned into a serious political issue now.
Secondly, I am (desperately) trying to find Dionisio Babo Soares' Phd thesis
'Branching from the Trunk: East Timorese Perceptions of Nationalism in
Transition (ANU). Could any of you provide me with some advice on how to
access it (electronic or paper delivery, download). Apparently, it hasn't
been published internationally since I couldn't find any ISBN.
Thanks so much and best regards from Germany
