Dear Friends and Colleagues

I am writing to the group with some sad news about Patsy Thatcher for those
that knew her as a great supporter of Timorese self-determination and the
Timorese community in Melbourne, founding member of Friends of Suai,
administrator of the Oan Kiak Foundation, an academic, friend and mother,
*Tia*, to many. I couldn't have completed my work on Timor-Leste without
her.

She passed away in hospital on Tuesday 19 November. There is no funeral but
family are putting on a gathering on 4 or 5 December. Please let me know if
you would like more details or would like to send a message to family.
