UNDERSTANDING TIMOR-LESTE: 2025 TLSA RESEARCH CONFERENCE

A few updates and reminders regarding the 2025 conference in Dili:

Sponsors

Conference Program
• The TLSA Conference Organising Committee is pleased to announce that we have received more than 200 abstracts!
• We expect to distribute the draft program at the end of this month. See here for ongoing updates  https://tlstudies.org/

Registration
• Registration for the conference is now open. See details here: https://tlstudies.org/registration/

• All international delegates presenting papers should register online by Monday 16 June.
• East Timorese delegates can pre-register using the above link, or register at the conference desk on 16 July.

• Non-presenters seeing to attend the conference may register at any time, including at the TLSA 2025 registration desk on 16 July.

Live streaming of auditorium sessions
• As in 2023, panel sessions from the main auditorium will be livestreamed.
• Special online-only registration rates are available for these sessions (Internationals). See the Eventbrite link here https://www.eventbrite.com/e/understanding-timor-leste-2025-tlsa-research-conference-tickets-1295209058159

•  East Timorese nationals resident outside Dili may livestream free of charge.

•  Live streaming will be a viewing format only, and is not available as a mode of presentation. However, online registrants will be able to participate in Q&A discussions.

Catering
• Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea will be provided to registered conference participants on each day (3 days).

Other Events
• This year we will be screening two films at Fundação Oriente as part of the conference program.
• A conference reception will be held at the Australian Ambassador’s residence on Tuesday 15 July.
• There will be a conference dinner on Friday 18 July.
• We will also have a book launch event on Saturday 19 July at Fundação Oriente. If you have recently published a book on Timor-Leste that you would like to have included in this event, please email tlsa2025conference at gmail.com<mailto:tlsa2025conference at gmail.com>
