Dear All

The ILA Conference in Sofia was a great success. The Sustainable Development Committee had an excellent session and the Sofia Guiding Statements on the Judicial Elaboration of Sustainable Development (attached hereto) were adopted. Please use and disseminate them - I believe they are an important contribution to the debate.

... I want to thank colleagues for all their support over the years. It has been a huge privilege and can I thank Nico Schrijver and Ximena Fuentes especially as the other officers of the Committee. It was a real pleasure to welcome many of you to Sheffield in 2009 for an intersessional meeting.
...

best wishes

Dear Duncan,

Thank you very much for the report. It is looking really good.

Just made a few comments on the comments, some not necessarily with
amendments to the text in mind but others with suggestion for changes.

I hope the comments are helpful and improve the quality. If, for any of

Subject: ILA Draft Report

Dear All

I hope all are well?

Please find a * draft * ILA Report, including draft recommendations - it
is incomplete and much still to be added, but I decided (a) it was
sufficiently coherent for the Committee to see, (b) Committee members
are asked to add to / amend / suggest deletions now rather than later,
and (c) the Guiding Statements in particular need further reflection.

Thanks to the steering group who got us this far, especially Tomer, Tim
and Marie-Claire. There have been many others as well. A footnote as to
the role of the working group and their significant contribution will be
added.

Please get comments back to me no later than 15 May

best

Duncan
