It's probably because they are fixed conversion rates (they are built
into European calculators all the time).

I need to do real conversions quite often and always use Google. Just
type in searches like:

   AUD in USD
   359.22 SGD in EUR
   592.12 CAD in GBP
   500 AUD in Turkish Money

Takes 1 second and is always in my browser toolbar, very simple.
