ramin.com.au was registered December 1996 and website was up in January 
1997.... nearing 10th Birthday!

I can't quite remember if Telstra quite had their act together.

ozemail.com.au was around now subsumed by iinet

connect (subsumed by AAPT which inturn was eaten by Telecom NZ) had a
.net.au domain
as did many including ABC I think had something to do with being above
commercialisation...
