Huey Long, Governor of Louisiana in or about 1930. Fictionalised by
Robert Penn Warren in "All the King's Men", played by Broderick
Crawford in the film (and I think maybe a recent one with Sean Penn).
Corruption on a breathtaking scale.

Democrat through and through! As was nearly every other Southern
politician of the time.
