he looks at it, glares at me, and walks off in a huff.

that's now. when i first got him from the cat protection society (i
finally decided to get another cat, my old one died about 2 years ago
at 17 years old...i went looking for a kitten and ended up with a 5
year-old) he didn't know what to do with mince. he refused to accept
that it was food. now he wont eat anything but mince...and occasionally
biscuits as a snack if i take too long getting the mince out.

i obviously took too long to feed him this morning because he went out
and caught a small lizard and brought it in to play with it in the hall
- knowing i'd take it off him and feed him to stop him catching it
again. it was quite deliberate - "feed me or the lizard gets it". smart
cat. and a killer...i'd have to keep him inside if i lived out in the
bush.

our old cats had got so old and lazy that they'd lie in the sun
only a few feet from pigeons stealing their biscuits, and show no
interest...not even flicking their tails. this new one's young, and a
hunter. the pigeons don't hang around any more (which is good, they used
to come inside to steal biscuits and get trapped in the house).

craig

getting further and further off topic.
