Trujillo is one of those experts who is very good at taking a big company
and reducing it to a small business. His only goal is to facilitate
the sellout of Telstra, at any cost, which is what he does with
every company he is part of. Sol's business is takeovers and
who cares about the consequences.
In the end, he doesn't care so long as he's raking off his own personal
fortune. In 2000, he left Qwest (a comms company with dubious
links to Enron and much fraud) 72 million richer.
Our fearless leaders admire big businessmen more than any other,
which explains the awe in which they beheld Sol, but I guess they didn't
expect him to actually do what he always does (ruining a business) and not
not understanding that we do things slightly differently in
Australia when doing business with the Howard govt.
A poisonous relationship that is surely going to see Sol dismissed,
with yet another diamond encrusted golden parachute due to contractual
obligations and Telstra left a husk, with the assets stripped to
finance greed and ideology.
