interestingly this obstacle produced the credit card and travellers
cheque (or should that be check).

I confess, I hadn't considered the option Craig has proposed of buying
back telstra....many other companies do and some even delist. But I
don't think this is likely to happen.
On politicians smirks- Bob Brown had one on his face,
when he responded to a reporter who sought his veiw on the justification
for the shortlived politicians recent payrise/super increase, that if
you pay peanuts you get monkeys..
Brown responded along the lines if you pay more peanuts do you get
baboons (or was it gorillas)?
