Lots and lots of people, Marghanita. But I have never swallowed the
"half pregnant" argument. Yes, the assertion is that there's something
bad about "half privatised", as if (a) none of the objections can be
managed and (b) similar situations don't happen overseas. If by
"overseas" we mean "America", fine, but American telco regulation is a
complete disaster area and has *absolutely nothing* to teach Australia.
Probably my main objection to the three Turjerki is that they pretend
that America is some shining beacon of telco regulation, when in fact
its carriers fall somewhere between "teeter" and "totter" unless they're
protected by an interventionist government.
When our smirking parliamentarians say "you can't have a half-pregnant
Telstra" remember that they want to imitate the most inept bunch of
losers the telecommunications industry can offer...
