Definitely not.

But! MIPI lobbies government, replete with generous campaign
donations. Government enacts legislation to as part of back-door
deal.

Happens all the time.

Me wonders how the increasingly odious copyright law changes
got into place. Someone must have been lobbying for it. Also,
there is the 'harmonisation' effect as a consequent of the
AusUSA FTA.

Perhaps that is the way MIPI might push through the legislation
here: part of DMCA/copyright harmonisation.

The possibilities stink, don't they?
