The first fully air-conditioned building was built in Buffalo New York 
in 1904. It was a heavy building with high thermal inertia. Buildings 
are responsible for 30% of greenhouse gas emissions in the US. Paul 
Linden discusses the energy drain of air-conditioning.

Now there's a move to natural ventilation.
