you're confusing the climate-change-deniers tactics with reputable
science here.

it is the deniers that pick and choose, because they have a policy
position and can only accommodate results that appear to support their
beliefs (and even then they often have to twist the results and misquote
them).

there are a very wide diversity of views within the scientific
community, and it is remarkable that these intelligent, competitive,
capable people have nevertheless found a common thread that stands up to
every test.

that's why the correct terminology is "climate change" not merely
"global warming", so that it includes all climatic effects of changes to
the environment.

what's your poison?  coal? oil? nuclear? -- all of these have a fuel
cycle, and all fuel cycle energy sources have problems with mining,
preparation, shipping, burning, and waste disposal.

that's why many are calling for fuel-less solutions like better house
insulation, solar hot water, electric vehicles, more public transport,
an end to wood-chipping old growth forests, and much, much more.
