David, I think your intentions are great.

But if someone's relying on Link (a discussion list about whatever it's
about) to stay informed about maintaining their computer, then they're
already doomed.

If their Windows box isn't already downloading the updates automatically
then either their computer hasn't been maintained in *years* (auto-update
has been around a LONG time!) or they chose to ignore every single warning
it gives them and have turned off updates. Either way, they've already lost
the battle.

Let 'em suffer, I say, and let natural selection take its course... ;)
