Howard, it's *exactly the same* with WinXP or any other Windows
version.
Fringe information is always tricky to find. The difference is that
you've learned what hoops to jump through with WinXP et al, just not yet
with Vista.
That said. in WinXP it's as simple as Linux: Open a DOS box,type
"ipconfig /all" and there is all you need to know. C.f. Linux: Open a
terminal, type "ifconfig".
