Anyone who has visited the Blackmountain site overlooking Canberra, will
know that the visitor's car park is filled with angry tourists all trying to
get into their cars. The radio locking devices just don't work, even if you
stand alongside the car release electronics.

It's the same at TCN Channel 9 in Sydney. Everyone who works there knows
not to lock their car.

The emissions from some of these transmitters must be very significant, but
I doubt that they'd light a fluoro.

There was a key member of the IEEE's radiation safety committee a few years
ago, who promoted the idea of warming our homes using large unshielded
microwave ovens.

Now that would most certainly light fluoros, and you wouldn't need any
copper wiring in the house. Just think of the saving.
