I have a self-winding Rolex - and it's not even a real one, it's a
knock-off that I bought for about A$40 on the beach at Phuket.
Apparently there are grades of fake Rolexes - the cheap ones use
batteries, and the "expensive" (ie. $40) ones are self-winding. Yeah,
it does run down if you don't wear it every day. I'm not sure if the
real thing lasts any longer. (I'm not in the market for the real thing
on my current wage.)
