Fighting hyperbole with hyperbole...

If all that advertising wished to do was to change consumer  
behaviour, then I still wouldn't agree with this statement.  
Advertisements can inform, entertain, illuminate, refresh memories,  
advise, promote, and kill (or make children obese).

It can also bring the end of the world, apparently:
