The ABS first results from the 2006 Census are online and available free (of course)   
 
 http://www.abs.gov.au/

So as at August 2006, 64% of households with an internet connection in Australa (with a net connection and excluding not stated) claimed to have broadband.  You can interact with the interface and look at sub areas, plus check out all the regular demographic stuff as well.

It's worth a visit, if you haven't been there for a while, as you can dynamically create tables and maps for all the 2001 census results and for the 2006 census results as they become available.
