I did not say that fibre to the home is a basic service, I have said it
*should be* a basic service, that it *should be* what we aspire to.

Euphemism is using a "nicer" word rather than the correct word. What
people here are saying is that words like "theft" and "piracy" are the
*wrong* words. It's a fine distinction, but I'm sure someone whose
business is words will see it.
At this point I could be very snide indeed and say that sensationalising
the banal is pretty standard for the media. We're all familiar with
journalists being part of the problem instead of part of the solution.
But perhaps you will use the terms more carefully than the above bald
statement would suggest.
