Why ever not? Many dual-layer DVDs clock in at 7+GB, so it's clear  
that it is not only possible, but quite probable that people watch  
this much material. I'm sure that stores like VideoEzy etc will vouch  
for higher numbers than this.

The increase in disk capacity seems to be running at the same rate as  
the increase in data storage needs. My own laptop has 100GB of OS,  
apps, and data (no DVDs). Every laptop that I've purchased for work  
or for play in the last 18 months (around 20) has had a minimum of  
80GB HDD.
